Bask in its glory! And yes, there are Mustang logos, 4x4 decals and Turkish flags on there, despite not being a Mustang, being FWD and not being located in Turkey. Anyone interested? Eligible for import into Canada right now, and in 4 years in the US.

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! as of now. Probably due to the very steep minimum price of €100...

It’s a 1988-1995 Renault 19, this one being from 1995.

Off topic but I can’t remember the last time I saw a Renault 19.

They’re all 21+ years old and I too don’t see many. They depreciated to roughly zero a long time ago, so it’s not that surprising. Especially in Germany.

Having said that, I do occasinally see one. One of the people in my building has one. I never ever see a pre-facelift one though.

A pre facelift sedan is a unicorn but not in that sense. I guess that they’re really worth nothing.

Never seen the convertible version of the 19 here in Norway. Not surprising considering that soft-tops were considered luxury cars back then and had a huuuge tax. The Ford Escort XR3 and the Mazda MX-5 is the most common from that period.

But actually, there is one for sale right now! Three regular ones for sale as well, the best one probably a 1.4 3-door from 1993.

I just looked at one of the biggest Dutch used car sites. They had 7 (seven!) Renault 19s. All of them post facelift, 6 out of 7 convertibles even though the hatch and sedan versions very easily outsold the convertibles. Anyway, the 7th is a sedan with extremely low kilometerage (84k) for its age. It looks to be in great shape. Probably grandpa owned (automatic gearbox). Price: €600.

For reference: they list more than 3000 Meganes.

I can’t recall ever seeing a convertible one before. It’s been a very long time since I’ve seen any kind of R19. You don’t even see them in France nowadays.

Maybe I should get one only to tell my friends that I have a ultra rare car. Joke aside, convertibles are in many cases not driven in winter and sedan are usually owned- as you said- by old people. But only 7 is very low. There are 83 (!) 19s for sale on Mobile.de in Germany.

The last one I saw was years ago; from what I remember, I never saw it driving, and by the time it was gone, there was a big, Renault 19 shaped shadow of greenery around where it was parked (this was on a concrete driveway too, not some patch of grass or anything)

I spotted those 83 as well. To be fair though, Germany has a much larger population and unlike the site I linked to mobile.de doesn’t charge you a fee for posting an ad. If I’m not mistaken.

You shoulf buy the €600 one I linked to. Great car for the money I bet. Boring yet rare. Import into Germany shouldn’t be a problem.

There used to be an old Renault 11 in my street that had moss growing on it. There also used to be a red 19 in my neighborhood with abs badges. That kinda caught my attention back when I was like 5 or 6.

Man, that 11 must have been there a long time; the only car I've ever seen with moss growing on it had been sat for at least 15 years

Yep, mobile.de is free. That maroon 19 looks pretty good and is rediculously cheap, but a three speed automatic and 73hp.. sounds very.. slow. But that value though.

That car was sometimes driven. But yeah, it really looked like a mess.

All the stick-on vents surely increase the power by 1 hp each right, at least in the mind of its former owner.

I drove an R19 Convertible in the late ‘90s. It taught me what body flex means. You really feel that part of the car’s body is missing, and Karmann’s attempts at strengthening the floor didn’t really do much.
